E.S.P. TV's Scott Kiernan and Victoria Keddie have created a sound and video based composition involving looping TV show bar scene narration, 16 directorial cues and a rolling feed from six security cameras focused on details inside and surrounding a fully outfitted ENG news van/TV studio. Mimicking a set of shifting eyes at the bar, they survey the scene, honing in on innocuous details to interrupt the flow of the program.
Cyclops is the only chapter in Ulysses told from the perspective of a sole narrator rather than from shifting viewpoints. We translate this into the distillation of the multiple potential viewpoints of a multi-camera TV production into one “program”.
